Autographed Joey Logano Items
Joey Logano certainly doesn't drive a car like a newbie. Collecting his memorabilia is now a popular pasttime for those who have followed the young driver's career.
Despite spending time on the Nationwide Series in 2009, Logano is moving up the charts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points standings. His coming out party happened early in the summer at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Logano became the youngest driver ever to win a race. At just 19 years old, the driver of the Number 20 GameStop Toyota is the newest of the NASCAR young guns.
Historically, there has always been a influx of young drivers making their mark early in auto racing. Some of those careers came to fruition and some did not live up to the billing. Logano certainly has the hype going for him right now and there is little doubt he is been groomed for his time in the spotlight, having been well known to race fans for much of his teenage years.
Logano, from Middletown, Connecticut, is keeping the whole thing in perspective. In fact, in a question and answer session with USA TODAY, he said he was just elated to get congratulations from veterans like Jeff Gordon. Gordon told Logano it was a legitimate win despite being rain shortened.
Is Logano the next rising star and the heir apparent to veterans like Tony Stewart, Gordon and Jimmie Johnson? Logano is certainly proving he belongs. Logano talked about his success on his own official website www.joeylogano.com.
It is that kind of confidence that has his supporters rallying around him. Now that he claimed his first win, Logano can work his way up the charts and battle for consistency--one of the more difficult qualities for even veteran drivers and teams to master..
Much like his predecessors, Logano has made his way up the ranks by climbing the racing ladder. He picked up his first win on the Nationwide Series in 2008. At age 15, veteran driver Mark Martin called Logano the real deal. His roots originally started in go-cart racing at age 4 much like many other NASCAR drivers of today.
Logano is now being called the budding star of American motor racing. Some go as far to say he is a new NASCAR teen idol. Whatever you call him, Joey Logano just likes to win. The nickname on his website he seems to prefer is Sliced Bread...a tongue-in-cheek reference to the old phrase the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Hell get more endorsement deals and NASCAR will definitely market him as the next rising star. It's certainly a commodity when you have a 19 year-old who can't even drink alcohol yet can still race well over 170 miles per hour on a super speedway. NASCAR realizes that fact and the sport has never been shy about marketing it's young stars. So Logano will most likely do well even if his career is not as successful as a Tony Stewart. Being the next best thing in NASCAR is not always the best label, but he won't be hurting for sponsorships, which is crucial these days.
Since his win, Logano items have been selling wildly on eBay.
No doubt Logano will win his share of races. Especially if he races as long as a guy like Mark Martin. He could possibly be the guy to catch the legendary Richard Petty in total wins. It is a long way off when you're still a rookie, but Logano seems to have the tools to carve out a long career and possibly make good on all of the positive noise around his arrival.
